Imagine....A Mother's Love

Family

I know I'm a day late but I did want to post something to celebrate the love that mother's bring to
the world each day. It is universal.... sharing our love with our children and the world saves lives,
creates beauty, and fulfills dreams. Bless all of you that are mothers today and every day.

A Good Read 2

Family

What is your favorite children's book?

Some of my favorite images from sessions are images of kids reading or being read to by a parent. There is such a tenderness in the moment and
it brings back a flood of memories of my boys when they were little.

I LOVE to read and I have tried to instill the love of reading in my boys. My oldest is an avid reader. He'll read anywhere and every where. He even uses a head lamp so he can read in the car at night. He prefers books that come in a series. His favorites are The Hunger Games (great movie by the way), Harry Potter (I believe he's read through them twice), Pendragon, Percy Jackson and many more. My youngest loves to buy books, and sometimes likes to read them, but most of the time loves to be read to. His favorite series are the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate. Our favorite to read together is the How to Train Your Dragon series. There are so many great memories connected to many of the books we've read over time. We recently tried to reduce some clutter in the boys rooms but the one thing we had a hard time getting rid of was books. Here is a list of some of our favorites:

1. Bear Snores On
2. Love You Forever
3. Where the Wild Things Are
4. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
5. Are You My Mother?
6. White Rabbits Color Book
7. The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear
8. How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?
9. Jubal's Wish
10. Skippyjon Jones

This is where I was meant to live...

Family

Napa Valley! It is seriously one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. My oldest and dearest friend lives on a beautiful quiet little slice of heaven on a mountain near St. Helena. I thought I died and went to heaven when I went there in April. The weather was hot for the time of year when I was there but I was certainly not complaining!! We ate, we drank and had good ol' girl time. Eat, shop, drink, shop, etc! So here are a few shots of two of the sweetest, and most adorable little munchkins in the world and then some shots of the winery (O'Shaughnessy) where her fabulous hubby is the sales manager....very yummy you must check it out.

These are in the cute little town of St. Helena...

And I can't forget my favorite lap dog...Scout...all 85 pounds of him! This dog has an uncanny
affection for me that I have yet to figure out!?!?

A loss...

Family

One of my favorite sessions was one that I did a little over a year ago for a family. I photographed three generations of women....beautiful, fun-loving, gracious, intelligent, and caring women. I was so thrilled they chose me...what could be more important after all. This is their legacy. This is their story. The love captured, the laughs shared are memories I still hold and so it is with heavy heart that I share these now as the family has lost their mother, their grandmother. She is gone but certainly not forgotten. Hopefully these images will remind them of that great day and the great love that they shared. One of my favorite quotes is from E.E. Cummings and it says " I carry your heart with me. I carry it in my heart." I know that this family will always carry her in their heart. So to all of you please hug and hold those you love even closer and don't forget to say "I love you". Sometimes it is a loss that reminds just how much we have in our lives to be thankful for.

Two times the fun!!

Family

I met this wonderful family through our new relationship with St. Mary's Visitation School in Elm Grove.
We did a multi-generation photo and then did a family session and I had such a great time doing both.
This woman is one of the kindest, most generous and thoughtful people I have met in my lifetime and
silly and fun-loving as well. If you are in need of a dentist for your children or family PLEASE check
out her practice, Pickart Dental.

And we can't forget Pippi....the adorable guinea pig...
