It's a success!

News

Well our first ever Diva Night was a huge success. We had lots of ladies ( and a couple brave guys) visit the studio for a very enjoyable evening.
There were yummy desserts and wine. The floral arrangements were beautiful. The music was enjoyed by all and all of our vendors enjoyed showing off their wares. Nicole was on Fox 6 News (scroll through the interviews to Diva Night) in the morning to promote the event. Needless to say I would have thrown up on the set so I'm grateful that she has the ability to feel comfortable in that situation! The afternoon was spent preparing the space. We had to take a lot of furniture and things out of the studio before we could begin setting everyone up.

The vendors arrived promptly and excited to participate. The vendors we had were unique and enjoyed not only visiting with those who came but with each other as well. It was a great place to network!

Once 6:30 arrived the guests started arriving and the rest as they say is history. Time flew by and everyone seemed to be enjoying an evening out.

We had such great vendors with great stuff. They included Le Cakery, City Tins, Jam Pro Fitness, Elm Grove Travel, One Blue Moon Charms, Fleet Feet, Elements Therapeutic Massage, Great Harvest Bread Company, Gracie Designs, The Pink Shopping Bag, Welke's House of Roses, Boutique B'Lou,Jaxie , Bella and Bradley's Children's Boutique, Sharp and Harkins Band
, and Etcetera Clothing
.

There were great raffle items available to win throughout the evening generously donated by each of our vendors. The night concluded with
our raffle for a $1000 gift certificate....there were quite a few hanging around hoping to win but we had one lucky winner. It was someone who
we haven't worked with before so we are looking forward to working with a new family. There are not enough words to thank our wonderful friends
who helped us before, during and after the event. We are blessed with great girlfriends! If you didn't get a chance to make it here please call to
arrange a time to stop by and see what we are all about or to schedule a session. We'd love to hear from you!

Grandmas and Grandpas....

News

I was blessed that I knew all of my grandparents even some of my great grandparents. I have such wonderful memories
of times that we spent together, the things we ate, the silly things we did. They are the ones that love you and spoil you
and make life just that much more special. Time is going so fast and before long all that will remain is memories of time
gone by. I have looked through so many old photographs of us together and smiled.

So in thinking about how important grandparents are and how important grandparents are in the lives of OUR children
we decided what better time than now to celebrate that relationship. We all say "Oh yeah someday we should really
get a photograph of the kids with grandma and grandpa...." . Now is the time to do so.

I know there is often hesitancy on the part of the grandparents because they don't like how they look. Grandchildren
don't care how grandma and grandpa look only that for just a brief moment we were able to capture the love that they shared.

On March 7th we will host a Grandparents Mini Session Day. Sessions will be 20 minutes and the $25 session fee will be donated
to the American Heart Association along with 10% of our total sales from the sessions. Sessions will be scheduled from 9am to 4pm.

You can call us at 262.785.5400 to schedule or email us at melanie@melaniesphotos.com

We hope to see you!

So much to tell...

News

First let me apologize profusely for dropping off the face of the earth for the last month or so. I always think I'm going to
stay ahead of the holiday rush but never manage to do it!!!

So Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all that good stuff. A big huge hug and lots of thanks to all my clients from this
year. You made it a great year. I will be getting a whole bunch of new images on the website soon I promise so keep checking
back.

Christmas found my family and I traveling to Chicago and then to northern Wisconsin. It was cold and snowy but it was work free
and nice to be with family and friends for the holiday. Christmas is always one of my favorite holidays and this year was no different.
We are thankful for all of our blessings and rang in the New Year with good friends

Most recently Nicole and I were in Arizona for the Professional Photographers of America annual conference. It was so fun
and our brains are packed full of information and all sorts of new things we want to do this year so keep checking the blog for
fun new stuff!!!!!!!

Needless to say it was much warmer in Arizona than here......MUCH WARMER!!! Last Wednesday night our flight was delayed
and so we were completely miserable walking off the plane at 12:30am (yes am!) and feeling the extreme cold slapping us in the
face. We were at the pool at noon basking in the 75 degree sun and 12 hours later were 82 degrees colder!!! YIKES. It was
a pleasant surprise to find that school was cancelled for the kids and we got a couple of much needed days of R&R.

As you can see below the skies were blue every day and we were blissfully happy that is until on Day 2 I was unable to find any
Coke (Coca-Cola that is!). Now for anyone that knows me this is nearly catastrophic. I have one vice in my life and that is regular
Coke. So by about 9pm I was near desperation. I had a Pepsi for lunch but in my book it's just not the same. What saved my
life believe it or not ( I still don't believe it honestly).......Hooters. Yes I still blush even thinking about it but apparently a soda addiction
can make you do crazy things. So we joined all the testosterone that was already crammed into the place for the Cardinals playoff
game and I enjoyed what was the first of many Cokes in that lovely establishment over the next several days. Now I had never been
in this place and swore I never would be.....but let me tell you that we had the best service of any restaurant we were in the entire time
we were out there and on top of having my beverage of choice they had fried pickles which were YUMMY!!!

So that is my last month in a nutshell or so. Enjoy a few highlights from our trip. I'll be posting more regularly now I promise!

DISCLAIMER: These were snapped with my 7 year olds digital camera because my little point and shoot was acting up so forgive the
fuzziness in some.
