I know I'm a day late but I did want to post something to celebrate the love that mother's bring to
the world each day. It is universal.... sharing our love with our children and the world saves lives,
creates beauty, and fulfills dreams. Bless all of you that are mothers today and every day.

Honored to capture this special time for this family. It is such an important day in many little girl's lives.
Her dress was beautiful and with those drop dead gorgeous eyes I could have photographed her all day long.
God Bless you sweetheart!
That burst of warm weather we had last month has me yearning for all things spring...
I keep daydreaming of the cute spring clothes and accessories I will see and purchase next week at our Ladies Night. nextdoor has such an awesome selection of denim and tops. They are reasonably priced and really cute! They have stocked up on colored denim, which is the hottest trend for spring. I am still not convinced I am able to pull it off.
Zewing Girl has the perfect headbands, watches and hair pins to jazz up any outfit. It is a great way to add a pop of spring color to your ensemble. And.....she makes the best key chains in the whole world.
I am REALLY excited to see what the ladies at Simply88 bring to the event. They are a new business. They make handmade scarves, flower pins, headbands and more. What I have seen, I have loved. They have awesome taste and I am looking forward to stocking up!
And last but not least......I cannot wait to see YOU and talk about how we are going to outfit you for your spring/summer session. When Mama looks good.....the whole family looks good! If you book a date at Ladies Night, we will gift you a set of custom designed notecards from your session.

Some of my favorite images from sessions are images of kids reading or being read to by a parent. There is such a tenderness in the moment and
it brings back a flood of memories of my boys when they were little.
I LOVE to read and I have tried to instill the love of reading in my boys. My oldest is an avid reader. He'll read anywhere and every where. He even uses a head lamp so he can read in the car at night. He prefers books that come in a series. His favorites are The Hunger Games (great movie by the way), Harry Potter (I believe he's read through them twice), Pendragon, Percy Jackson and many more. My youngest loves to buy books, and sometimes likes to read them, but most of the time loves to be read to. His favorite series are the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate. Our favorite to read together is the How to Train Your Dragon series. There are so many great memories connected to many of the books we've read over time. We recently tried to reduce some clutter in the boys rooms but the one thing we had a hard time getting rid of was books. Here is a list of some of our favorites:
Just wanted to send a quick post out since our new Facebook page will be showing itself off today in all it's glory. I'm sure Facebook will change the layout in another 6 months and then we'll be out of style again but for now we look current, and might I say adorable and fun. So if you get a chance go over to the Melanie Sikma Photography Facebook Page and "like" us if you haven't already.
